That was good. I will tell you one thing I will NEVER own a hybrid...........they are for hippies (sorry if anyone owns one). I like the black puffs of smoke that come out of my exhaust when I lay on the accelerator and I like how it tears up the roads (or yards if i get a little off track ). I will always love my Evo8 MR. And I will have it forever! I agree with U.P.Evo8 damn you Mitsubishi!

Mitsu had a good run, put out a platform with potential. I think the tuners and aftermarket vendors made the Evo legendary. When was the last time Mitsu ran a factory race car? Don't get me wrong, I love my Evo8, and would be happy running it for a long time. It's when my Evo is in sick-bay for things like the t-case that I hate it. My wife hates that my emotional well-being revolves around the Evo. Mitsubishi, damn you for hooking us on a drug, then leaving us out to dry!

Thanks, guys. There are those who have never bought a new Mitsubishi, likely never will, and see the passing of the Evo as some sort of rationalization for why. Freud was right.

Headgasket replacement is a good time. Nice to be doing it before it gets hot!

Do you have a build thread anywhere? Take lots of pictures when you do this stuff. It takes guts to put sandpaper to paint or pull an engine for the first time. :thumbsup

"New heat." Love it, Richard. Keep us posted. If you send us over a couple pictures and a paragraph or two about the latest developments, we'll run 'em so everyone can keep up with the project. That's got to be one of the meanest FTOs on the planet. Go fast with class.

NOTE: Richard, I don't know where your comment went! For anyone who missed the EPIC FTO action, the story is over on Drag Gearbox Magazine: http://drag.gearboxmagazine.com/2011/01/richard-batty-uks-fastest-fto/
