Your Top 3 Mitsubishi Forums

Your Top 3 Mitsubishi Forums

1 June 2010 in Survey View Comments

It’s June and that means we’re shifting gears here at Mitsubishi Gearbox. Last month, we talked about when and where we get together, as well as shenanigans that go on at those get events. This month, we’d like to focus on where everyone spends their time with other Mitsubishi owners online.

Many of us have a forum or two we call home. We spend more time on these sites than any others. If you’ve ever had a conversation with a buddy and referred to “the board” or “the forum,” you know what we’re talking about this week.

What are your top 3 Mitsubishi forums?

No, we’re not asking you to actually rate which boards are best. We’re just looking for 3 forums you spend the most time on and maybe some reasons why you like those forums. You see, we want to help Mitsubishi owners get the most out of their vehicles. We got our start on forums back in the day and we feel the boards are critical to the health of the Mitsubishi community so we’d like to give folks a chance to pitch the sites that they like the most.

Can’t name just 3? Name 4, 5, 10, 100 if you want!

Disclaimer: The author is a member of the pictured forums (and many, many more). Gearbox Magazine doesn’t claim these communities to be the best, but these are the communities where the author spends most of his time and, well, he needed a picture to go with this post.

MidwestEvos - 1 June 2010

Well as owner/founder of http://www.midwestevos.com I would have to say that one :) – Secondly I'd choose http://www.mitsumedia.com, and third would have to be http://www.evowned.com

Brian Driggs - 2 June 2010

@midwestevos Thanks for the comment. It's cool to see a forum owner naming other forums. We're all in this together, right? Curious, though, why did you pick Mitsu-Media and Evowned?

Tyler - 2 June 2010

Mitsu-media.com of course is number one. Then http://www.gatewaydsm.org, and finally, http://www.dsmtuners.com.

Kim Schuenman - 2 June 2010

There are so many good ones out there! I don't have as much free time as I used to so these sites aren't frequented as much as I'd like.

For me:

1. UTDSM – http://www.utdsm.org/smf
2. Team Nabr – http://www.teamnabr.com
3. ECMTuning – http://www.dsmlink.com/forums
4. DSMTuners – http://www.dsmtuners.com
5. Mitsu-Media – http://www.mitsu-media.com

Zach - 2 June 2010

I would have to say my one and only forum I am ever on is http://www.mitsu-media.com. It is a great community, with active and knowledgeable members.

Bryan Roehrs - 2 June 2010

Mitsu-Media.com is my home, without a doubt. Such an incredible community there. I also frequent GatewayDSM.org, 3Si.org, US3S.org and MidwestEvos.com.

satasiza - 2 June 2010

mitsu-media.com for me. Great community and fun to be in.

Supa - 3 June 2010

Mitsu-Media.com

Pretty much the GREATEST Mitsubishi based forum ever created ;)
MMFTW

Wingnut - 3 June 2010

Mitsu-media.com for sure

Rolczynski - 3 June 2010

mitsu-media.com is my internet home. Great community there and anytime I have questions I get prompt answers without hassles.

ronnie - 3 June 2010

http://www.evo123.net/ is really good friendly people always willing to help !!

Martin James - 3 June 2010

http://www.Evo123.net gets my vote every time for the early Evolutions

EvoMayhem - 3 June 2010

http://www.evo123.net

It is the only site I know of to cater primarily for the earlier generation of lancer evolutions, namely the I, II and the III. Also, you will be exceptionally hard pressed to find a friendlier community.

Second would be http://www.lancerregister.com

JPL - 3 June 2010

I've just learned of a whole bunch of new places to read about Mitsubishis, but my two most common web-trawlings are on http://www.delica.ca and forum.ivoac.ca – the first focuses on the diesel-powered 4×4 JDM-version of what was the Mitsubishi VanWagon sold in America, and the second is a multi-platform forum for those of us who have imported and/or drive imported vehicles in Canada (mostly JDMs, but there are some cool offerings coming available out of Europe in the next couple of years).

Chris W - 3 June 2010

http://www.evo123.net Also gets my vote for top early evo forums.

Nick aka eclipsh - 3 June 2010

http://www.dsmtuners.com and http://www.thegalantcenter.net are my two mainstays. I check both a few times a day when I can. I'll hit up mitsu-media.com on occasion too.

SpyderBite - 4 June 2010

Definitely http://www.Mitsu-Media.com

Brian Driggs - 4 June 2010

Mine would be:

Team 2GNT – http://2gnt.com – Because all this started with a 2GNT Talon.
GalantVR4.orghttp://galantvr4.org – Because it's the best source for GVR4
tech in North America.
Mitsu-Media – http://mitsu-media.com – Because Rob and the MM team have been
major supporters of Gearbox since Day One.

I also like checking out:
Mitsubishi Fan Forum – http://mitsu-talk.de – Because there are some slick
Mitsubishis in Germany.
Delica Canada – http://delica.ca – Because, well, I really, really, REALLY
want a Delica one day.

Keep 'em coming, folks!

Brian Driggs - 4 June 2010

Lots of love for Mitsu-Media here! Like I said, MM has been a major
supporter of Gearbox since Day One and it is appreciated.

And good to hear from Ronnie and the gang from Evo123.net again! Given the
similarities between the early Evos and the DSM/GVR4, Evo123.net is a great
place to find some different perspectives on tech and community.

@JPL – Thanks for mentioning Delica.ca and IVOAC. I love the Delis and I bet
there's some cool stuff to be seen roaming the halls of IVOAC.
Does anyone know of any really oddball Mitsu forums out there? Like
Mitsubishi-Forklift-Owners-Association or Sirius Boating or something really
off the wall that most people have probably never heard of?

Brian Driggs - 4 June 2010

Tuners and TGC. Both storied Mitsubishi communities! Thanks for sharing.

Jason - 5 June 2010

Evo123.net for some earlies fun.

Brian Driggs - 5 June 2010

I love how the Evo123 folks refer to their cars as “earlies.” That's pretty
cool.
