JSB! Mike’s 92 Galant VR4
Jack Stand Baller (JSB). Some Mitsubishis, while bristling with potential for excellence, spend extended periods of time up in the air. As Gearbox Magazine first learned of this term over on GalantVR4.org, it’s only fitting that our first JSB interview is of a GVR4 owner.

What’s your real name? (What’s your screen name?)
Mike. Screen name is 3/1000
Where do you live?
Phoenix, AZ
What Mitsubishi is currently JSB?
’92 Mitsubishi Galant VR4

What happened to your Mitsubishi?
Despite its shiny exterior appearance, it needed quite a bit of TLC on the behind the scenes parts, so it had to get put up so that I could fix the issues and feel safe driving the car.
How long have you been JSB?
IIRC its been about 14 months now since I’ve driven the car.
How long before you see the Mitsubishi back on the road?
With the winter season here I’d like to get the car back on the ground soon so hopefully within a couple months. I won’t rush though, if it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.
What’s keeping you JSB (other than time or money)?
Other than time or money, nothing really.
Who has helped you the most along the way?
GalantVR4.org, a few friends and my girlfriend. Thanks to all of you who have helped me.
Who do you look up to in the Mitsubishi community?
The people who truly love these cars and see them as a piece of Mitsubishi history. The ones who are always trying to improve their setup, learning from what they’ve done. People who take their time to put out a quality product.
Is there a particular shop you’d like to recommend?
STM has been great at getting me many parts.
Do you spend time on any Mitsubishi sites? Which ones?
